An economically, environmentally, and socially sustainable café designed and operated by the community, for the community! VOTE for Team 5 in the SSMU sustainability case competition!

We believe that every person is connected in an infinite loop and each opinion and action has the potential to initiate great change. From the variety of hot meals we serve, to the clubs and networks we sponsor, The Loop Cafe hopes to include YOU in the interconnected, ever-growing loop of our McGill community!

The Loop’s focus is to endorse not only environmental and economical sustainability, but SOCIAL sustainability as well! The Loop aims to revolutionize the café environment, bringing customer participation to a whole new level.

Active dining – play a role in the food you eat from its conception, production, right up to its consumption!
Eco-friendly consumerism – reducing our ecological footprint through responsible purchasing of local produce and energy-efficient appliances, all while going back to the indispensable 3 R’s: reduce, reuse, recycle!
Speak Up! – puts the emphasis on the community through interactive media and face-to-face, personal engagement. Write on our walls, pick our music; our café really is YOUR café!
Integrative education – visual elements in the café will aid clientele in making informed and responsible decisions about environmental sustainability. Learn to eat smart, not just healthy!

How can YOU get involved?
The Loop is running a PHOTO CONTEST.

Watch for the Loop’s members around campus starting March 1st! Have your PHOTO taken, holding a sign that tells us YOUR OPINION on one of the elements of our café (don’t worry, we’ll provide the template)! Your name will then be entered in a draw, and one lucky person will win an AMAZING PRIZE.

The WINNER will be announced at the EXPO on MARCH 14TH, where all the photos will be on display and available for pickup. DON’T FORGET TO COME, AND SUPPORT TEAM LOOP! You don’t want to miss this amazing opportunity!
